We road tripped down to Charlotte to shoot one of our dearest friend's weddings. Melissa has been cheering us on since we started dating in college and it has been so wonderful and exciting to get to cheer her and Alex on. It's so clear how the Lord has given them both a deep love for Him and His Word, a passionate gifting for ministry, and created a companionship to last a lifetime. We've had so much fun getting to add Alex into our friendship. He instantly fit in and we so wish they lived closer!
It was another wedding where we leave saying "I can't believe we get to do this!". Taking pictures for our friends to treasure is seriously the best thing. Melissa’s dress (that she bought second-hand! Our girl loves a deal). had these beautiful flowing layers, like petals and she looked like the most glorious bridal flower. So lovely and so “her”. Lots of tears were shed, the happiest tears, all day long! The first look with Melissa's dad and the bridal party praying over the bride and groom were two of our favorite parts of their day. They had a large ceremony at their church with a cupcake reception to hug all their guests. It was amazing to see how loved and supported they are by their family, friends, and church. After, we sneaked away to Thompson Park and Elizabeth Park with the bridal party for pictures under beautiful trees and views of the city. We stayed to do their portraits there too and it was so relaxing! Melissa + Alex were a dream to be with, light-hearted and blissful. We were just hanging out as friends — it was the best! The day finished with a private dinner for family and close friends. Their whole day was simple and personal, highlighting the couple and the joyfully celebrating the beginning of their marriage.
Mel and Alex, we love you guys! Thank you for asking us to be such a big part of your day. Even more so, thank you for your genuine friendship that we pray last for many more years. We can't wait to see all the amazing Kingdom blessings the Lord has for your family! Please, come visit soon.
